Market review
Define the destination country and product category before you finalize the ingredients, label or commercial commitments.
One product brief, separate markets
| Decision | Development position |
|---|---|
| United States | Review product classification, ingredient eligibility, manufacturing requirements, labeling and intended claims with the responsible business and qualified adviser. Do not assume that an oral pouch qualifies for a particular dietary supplement route. |
| European Union | Check the category, ingredient and novel-food questions, local implementation and permitted nutrition / health claims for each intended destination. An EU-wide sales plan still needs a country-level review. |
| Australia | Determine the category and applicable Australian framework before assuming a listed ingredient or a foreign specification is suitable. |
| New Zealand | Assess separately from Australia, including category, ingredient, presentation and import responsibilities. |
| Other markets | Identify the importer, proposed ingredients, intended use and label claims; obtain local review before committing to sale or shipment. |
Avoid approval shortcuts
A manufacturing credential, a registration and a product authorization answer different questions. Neither a supplier statement nor a website badge should replace a record that identifies the actual site, activities, scope and validity. A material COA does not establish a lawful health claim.
Primary starting points: FDA dietary supplement information, European Commission nutrition and health claims, and Australia’s TGA. These are reference sources, not approvals for our concepts.
A market review handover
- Full ingredient list, ingredient forms and proposed amounts
- Finished format, intended placement and use instructions
- Target population, warnings and proposed claims
- Destination country, importer and label languages
- Applicable test methods, documentation and review responsibilities
