Elemental magnesium content, magnesium salt weight and total pouch fill are different quantities and must be specified separately.

Write three separate numbers

The mass of a magnesium compound is not the mass of elemental magnesium. The complete fill also includes any other ingredients and processing components. Ask how each quantity is calculated, specified and measured. A label comparison is meaningful only when the same basis is used on both sides.

Check the physical format

A small pouch has finite volume and practical limits on texture and handling. Do not assume a tablet or capsule amount will transfer into the same-sized oral pouch. Ask whether the selected material and carrier system fit the proposed dimensions and whether the sample represents the intended commercial process.

Review the total daily intake

The intended frequency and full formula matter to a safety and label assessment. If B6 is added, its exact form and amount need their own review. Do not choose a combination because it creates a familiar marketing label. The destination market and intended user population must be part of the decision.

Confirm the analytical basis

Ask for fit-for-purpose test methods and acceptance criteria for the finished matrix. A raw-material COA is useful incoming information but does not define the complete release specification. Keep the formula version, total fill tolerance, ingredient amount and label declaration linked in the approved project file.

For each item, record the decision owner, the information needed and the approval that allows the next stage to proceed. Unresolved questions should remain visible in the project brief instead of being replaced by an assumed specification.
